  • Corporate 'Greenwash' Academy Awards

    When: Friday 23 rd August at 17h00 (for the Press conference) with cocktails at 18h00 and the Green Oscars award ceremony following at approximately 18h15.

    Where: Oxford Room, The Balalaika Hotel
    Maude Street, Sandton

    Trans-national corporations perpetrating human rights and environmental abuses will answer for their actions - wherever they are. Politicians that ignore or enable these abuses will be exposed.

    Leading international human rights and environmental campaigners will address a press conference on the global future of intensified campaigns for corporate accountability.

    Following the press conference, the Greenwash Academy Awards will take place. The 'winning' corporations have been invited to receive their awards.

    The "Green Oscars" to be awarded in ten different categories include:

  • "Best Green Actor" for disseminating corporate disinformation;

  • "Best Foreign Direct Investment" for the most damaging development project in the Third World.
