POSITION TITLE:
Fall Intern - Social Networking
ORGANIZATION: CorpWatch
POSITION LOCATION: San Francisco, CA
DATE POSTED: September 15, 2009
HOURS: 10-20 hrs/week (may be flexible)
PAY: Unpaid Internship; may qualify for school credit
REPORTS TO: Crocodyl Project Coordinator
Intern Responsibilities
Develop and regularly update CorpWatchs presence on social-networking and media websites (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Change.org, MySpace, Reddit, etc.), including setting up automatic content updating from CorpWatchs website, expanding CorpWatchs friend networks, and communicating with visitors.
Create short media messages to be distributed on Twitter, Youtube and Facebook.
Assist with administrative responsibilities and general support of the organization.
Opportunity to contribute several blog entries on current news items related to our various focus issues and industries.
Qualifications
Excellent written, oral and communication skills and attention to detail.
HTML coding, Web 2.0 skills, enthusiasm and involvement with online social networking and open source communities.
Basic knowledge of video and audio production for the web.
Analytical and critical thinking skills.
Commitment to environmental and social justice and the mission of CorpWatch.
Recommended computer knowledge: Mac, Word, Excel, e-mail and web programs.

Contribute to research and content support for the CrocTail notes database. CrocTail (http://croctail.corpwatch.org) is a database of subsidiary relationships among US-registered publicly traded corporations.
Contribute to the integration of CrocTail content and Crocodyl.org Company Profiles. Assist with administrative responsibilities and general support of the organization.
Opportunity to contribute several blog entries on current news items related to our various focus issues and industries.
Qualifications
Excellent written, oral and communication skills and attention to detail.
Advanced use of web technologies. Previous use of Drupal is a plus.
Research and editing skills.
Previous experience with corporate research strongly preferred. Analytical and critical thinking skills.
